Cowrie, not crystal. The shells hang from a beaded fringe at the bust, band the waist, and edge the shrug — a material that belongs to coastal craft rather than couture, worked here with the density usually reserved for stone.
Natural crepe, gathered and draped. Over it, a viscose organza shrug, sheer enough to read the skirt through. The back carries the argument: coloured thread walked in zigzag stripes, closed with feather and shell.
For mehendi, carnival and haldi. Loud on purpose, and light enough to wear all day.
